Does it handle tables with alignment (left/center/right)?

Yes. The separator row alignment indicators (:---:, :---, ---:) are detected and stripped from the output since CSV has no alignment concept.

What about cells containing pipes or commas?

Cells with special characters are automatically quoted in the CSV output.
